40 NEW CASES COULD BE RECORDED IN TZANEEN

Limpopo Health Department might be forced to prepare for the possiblity of a COVID_19 outbreak in Tzaneen after, the arrest of a positive man on Thursday.

This following the arrest of a 30 year old man, who failed to self_ quarantine after testing positive in Gauteng province.

According to the Provincial Mec for Health Dr. Phophi Ramathuba the man, was arrested with the help of the SAPS Tzaneen Cluster, after she received a complaint from a concerned citizen.

” Being an under resourced province, the only way to win this battle is to ensure that those who must be screened and tested do so and those who must self _ quarantine must do so” said Mec Ramathuba

The man who captured himself, before taking a test in Johannesburg, ignored to self _ quarantine and risk the lives of many people by boarding a mini_bus to Tzaneen.

According to an anonymous source, the 30 year old man, used a 22 seater mini_bus from Johannersburg to Tzaneen and he proceeded his journey to Nkambako village in Nwamitwa by using a Quantum taxi that carries 15 passengers.

He interacted with his family upon arrival and later went out drinking with friends.

The department has transported him to the MDR/XDR hospital in Modimolle on Saturday.

He was kept in isolation at Letaba hospital on Friday

The virus is expected to spread next week as SASSA Grant beneficiaries will flock to Tzaneen town for essential shopping.
